Galway's Johnny Heaney celebrates scoring a goal against Donegal

Galway and Mayo have both safely negotiated the choppy waters of the back door series and are looking forward to the last eight of the All-Ireland SFC series...

1. Bernard Power (Galway)

Replaced Ruairi Lavelle between the sticks and it proved to be a shrewd move by Kevin Walsh as his kick-outs worked a treat and he also saved Paddy McBrearty penalty attempt.

2. Eoghan Kerin (Galway)

Kerin impressed against Donegal but he and his defensive team-mates will have to come up with a plan to keep James O'Donoghue, Paul Geaney & Co under wraps this Sunday.

3. Brendan Harrison (Mayo)

Harrison and Mayo will be hoping to find further improvement ahead of their last eight showdown with Roscommon next weekend.

4. Liam Silke (Galway)

The Corofin clubman dispatched his 25th minute penalty to he back of the Donegal net with aplomb.

5. Gareth Bradshaw (Galway)

Relished the physical battle with Donegal as the Tribesmen bounced back in impressive style from their Connacht SFC final no show.

6. Keith Higgins (Mayo)

Higgins and Mayo had to call on all of their big game experience to break Cork's brave resistance in the Gaelic Grounds.

7. Colm Boyle (Mayo)

Boyle was prematurely called ashore in the 53rd minute and manager Stephen Rochford was lucky that it didn't turn out to be a call that he was left to regret.

8. Paul Conroy (Galway)

The stylish midfielder got his hands on plenty of possession around the middle third of the Markievicz Park field and chipped in with a point for good measure.

9. Tom Flynn (Galway)

Earned the 25th minute penalty that Silke converted against Donegal and be pleased with his massive contribution to his team's impressive 4-17 to 0-14 success.

10. Sean Powter (Cork)

The Rebel County don't do moral victories but the eye-catching performance of Powter gives the county's supporters cause to be optimistic about the future.

11. Aidan O'Shea (Mayo)

Another influential display by the Breaffy powerhouse who will travel to Croke Park with a pep in his step.

12. Johnny Heaney (Galway)

Posed plenty of problems for the Donegal defence with his probing runs and finished as Galway's top scorer with a return of 2-2.

13. Paddy McBrearty (Donegal)

The Kilcar man - who raised six white flags - was left to plough a lone furrow up front against Galway.

14. Cillian O'Connor (Mayo)

Mayo's go-to-man delivered eleven points, including six from play, against the Rebel County.

15. Donnacha O'Connor (Cork)

The 36-year-old asked serious questions of the Mayo defence and rolled back the years when finding the target with six points.
