Ring Cup: neighbours must meet again

May 03, 2014
Kildare 1-27
Wicklow 2-24
(After extra-time)

Kildare and Wicklow will meet again in Arklow next Saturday after extra-time failed to separate the local rivals at a drizzly Newbridge this afternoon.

Mikey Lee's late, late equalising point forced a replay for the visitors after Paul Divilly looked to have won it for the Lilywhites moments earlier.
Gerry Keegan lit the blue touch paper for an exciting and high-scoring contest with an early goal, but Lee hit back with an unanswered 1-1 to edge the visitors ahead by the fifth minute.

Points from Tony Murphy and Ryan Casey had put Kildare back in front before Lee bagged his second major to give Casey O'Brien's charges a slender 2-7 to 1-9 advantage at the break.

A fiercely contested second half finished with the sides level on 1-20 to 2-17 as extra-time also failed to divide the teams.
