Celbridge GAA Notes

Fixtures/Results
Congratulations to the senior footballers who overcame Suncroft 2-11 to 0-12 on Sunday evening in Hawkfield in the first round of the championship. Celbridge will be delighted with this win especially in light of some of the heavy hitters who will be in the losers side of the draw for the next round.
Well done also to the Kildare minor footballers who overcame Louth by 2-16 to 2-08 to set up a Leinster semi-final with old foes Dublin. They were ably led by their captain Paddy Brophy who scored 2-03 and also Celbridge's Colin Heaney (goalie) and Shane O'Flynn (0-02) played their part. Well done to Brendan McGrath and his U-16 hurlers who beat Leixlip in the Shield final on Saturday (2-07 to 1-07). The Kildare senior hurlers bowed out of the Christy Ring cup on Saturday when they went under to a more determined Meath team (1-16 to 0-16).
