Lilies wary of Royal threat

30 July 2010

Kildare selector Niall Carew knows that Meath's experience at this level will give them an edge in Sunday's All-Ireland SFC quarterfinal.

Despite having reached the last three All-Ireland quarterfinals, Kildare have yet to make the last four in recent years, while Meath have reached the penultimate stage twice in the last three years.

"Meath have been boxing at this level for a few years now and it's going to take a big performance from us and the players know that," said Carew.

"Whoever comes out of the game is going to be a serious challenger and will have a big say in the championship."
