Carney, Paddy

June 04, 2009
A native of Cavan, who came to Kildare as a member of the National Army more than 60 years ago, Paddy married into the Percival family. He and his wife Tess, who predeceased him more than a quarter of a century ago reared a fine family in Allenwood. He became involved in the fledgling GAA club at all levels particularly as an underage mentor and referee. His two sons and four grandsons have all worn the Sky Blue colours with great pride. Paddy was employed for many years with the ESB. He was a keen gardener, growing his own vegetables. He was also noted for the very high standard of his "domestic housekeeping" of which he was justifiably proud. Sincere sympathy goes to all who mourn Paddy. Ar dheis De go raibh se.
