Kildare county board 'fully supports' Ryan

Kildare GAA chairman Mick Gorman has backed Glenn Ryan to continue as county senior football manager.

Ryan's position has come under scrunity after a poor start to the season which has seen the Lilywhites lose all five of their Allianz Football League Division 2 games to date, and needing to beat Donegal and Louth in the last two rounds to avoid relegation. Gorman raised eyebrows at the February county board meeting when he told delegates that the 'results are not good enough', but he insisted at this week's meeting that the beleagured manager has the county board's full support.

"Since the last meeting, the comment from the national media has been very disappointing," the Kildare chairman is quoted as saying in the Leinster Leader.

"We as a management committee fully support every management team and players as they continue to represent their county."
