Two Mile House manager Niall Browne admitted that it was a risk taking off Peter Kelly at half time of their Leinster club IFC semi-final win over Courtwood.

Leading by eleven points at half time, Browne opted to rest the county star who is carrying a knock to his ankle, especially as they had such a healthy lead.

However, they were made to work for their win as it was a below par second half performance, but they still managed to weather the storm and book their place in the provincial final.

“He could have played on, we were ten or eleven points ahead at half time and had a Leinster final to think about so we took a calculated risk, we just needed to give him a chance with that ankle injury but he will be fine for the final,” said Browne.

He added: “Look, I’d be lying if I said I was not a little bit worried but I felt if we just got another point to take the energy out of it and we did, but the goals were very poor from our point of view; we didn’t call; we lost concentration and it is something we are going to have to work on before the final and while happy with the result, definitely disappointed with the concession of those two goals.”
