The Late John Stack The death occured of John Stack of Lassinagh, The Spa, Tralee, at the age of 69. Born in 1939 to parents Tom and Jane Stack, John spent his early years as a fisherman. He then left for America where he played football in Gaelic Park before returning to his native soil. He started fishing again off the Kerry coast and Clare coast and worked most of the 1960's on the Irish and French trawlers. He also spent a while on the oil rigs before turning his hand to landscaping, where he was more content and which he would remain doing for the next twenty-five years. John never married and insted lived with his brother, Jimmy. He loved the outdoors and after working a hard graft that week, he enjoyed going into Tralee town at the weekend for a drink. John was a very well-liked and well-respected member of the community, which was eveident at the large turnout at his funeral that weekend. John lived a good live and was described by those who grafted with him as a hard worker, an honest and witty man. For the last two years, John was ill but it never fazed him. He is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Jane and is survived by his brother Jimmy, relatives and friends. His removal took place on Friday the 28th of March from Hogan's Funeral Home, to the Church of the Purification, Churchill. Burial took place on Saturdaythe 29th in the local cemetery.
