The late Pat Healy The sudden death of Pat Healy, manager of the Dingle AIB bank, has caused widespread shock in west Kerry and beyond. Mr Healy (52), who was the chairman of the Kerins-O'Rahily GAA club in Tralee, was taken ill at the Strand Road grounds. He was brought to Kerry General Hospital were he later died. He had undergone treatment for a heart condition. Former GAA President Sean Kelly was shocked to hear the news of Mr Healy's death. "Pat was a close personal friend and a great GAA man. It was a huge shock to learn of his death. Very few people did as much work for the GAA as Pat Healy. He was a member of our Finance Committee and was always coming up with ideas on how the Association could make better use of its finances. His influence on Kerins-O'Rahilly's is there for all to see. The man was 20 years ahead of his time with ideas for developments and innovations" Mr Kelly told the Kerryman. A native of Renanirree, Co Cork, Mr Healy had been manager of the Dingle AIB bank since 1989 and was a highly resected member of the community. Following his Requiem Mass in St Mary's Church Dingle, Mr Healy was laid to rest in the New Rath Cemetery, Tralee. He is survived by his wife Lille and his daughters Kath, Lillian and Roisin.
