Kerry legend Walsh passes away
September 11, 2006
Kerry GAA is mourning the death of Eddie Walsh, who is considered to be one of the greatest players the county has ever produced.
Aged 92, Walsh won five All-Ireland medals in 1937, '39, '40. '41 and '46, and eight Munster championships with the Kingdom. The Knocknagoshel man also won Railway Cup medals with Munster in 1941 and '46.
A star half back, Walsh also played in the famous 1947 All-Ireland final between Kerry and Cavan in the Polo Grounds in New York.
May he rest in peace.
