A goal in each half was Kerry champions Dr Crokes move into the last four of the Munster club senior football championship yesterday at the expense of home side Kilmurry-Ibrickane.
Crokes made the dream start to this contest with their talisman hitting the Clare men for 1-1 in the opening stages, but the hosts weren't about to roll over and scores from Peter O'Dwyer and Enda Coughlan brought them back into contention before a fine save from Crokes net-minder David Moloney off James Doolan kept it at 1-4 to 0-5 by the interval for the Munster champions.
In the early stages of the second-half, Moloney would save the would-be winners' back again with a stop on Coughlan and it proved to be a turning point as Crokes opened up a 2-7 to 0-5 lead by the 41st minute after points from Doolan, Chris Brady and 1-1 from Brian Looney.
Substitute Mark McCarthy and Seamus Murrihy kept up the fight for the Clarke kingpins, but it was Crokes that held out for a hard-earned victory which sees them into the last four of the province.
