Rohan, Maurice

March 22, 2012
The death of Maurice (Mossie) Rohan, Meadowlands, Tralee took place on February 29th. Maurice was born in Kilmurry, Cloghane on June 26th, 1929 and was the youngest of nine children. He travelled to Canada and the US in the 1950s and it was in New York that he met the lady who would become his wife, Teresa. Teresa hailed from Virginia, Co Cavan and they would go on to have two children, Eileen and Michael.

Despite the distance from home, Maurice never forgot his native land and it was twenty years later in 1973 when he returned hohme, bringing his family with him to settle down in the Meadowlands Estate, Tralee.
Maurice was a very sociable person who loved his pint almost as much as Gaelic Football. He was a fervent supporter of the Austin Stacks Club, the West Kerry and the Kerry teams. When speaking about 'back west', sports, his family or even the weather, Maurice did it with passion.

The Kingdom has lost a True Blue. His family have lost someone dear. Maurice will be missed by all.
