Peter Keane is set to be appointed as Kerry’s new senior football manager, according to a report from the Irish Examiner.

The double All-Ireland winning manager is expected to be ratified at Monday night’s county board meeting in Tralee, where his backroom management team will also be unveiled.

It is understood that fellow managerial candidate Maurice Fitzgerald could be a selector under Keane, who hails from Caherciveen – the hometown of the 1997 All-Ireland winning forward.

Donie Buckley, who served in Jack O’Connor’s management team in 2012, is another name being mentioned as selector under the 47-year-old.
