With six All-Ireland SHC semi-final defeats behind him as a player, Waterford selector Eoin Murphy will be seeking redemption from the sideline this Sunday.

Murphy was part of the Waterford side during the 00's that looked to end the county's long wait for another All-Ireland SHC title, but the penultimate stage of the race for the Liam MacCarthy Cup seemed to be their achilles heel with just one final appearance made in 2008.

Now Murphy is part of the management team and has the opportunity of helping the side into this year's final where they would face Galway.

First though, they must see off the challenge of a confident Cork side that have been one of the form team's in this year's championship.

"I must say that they (Cork) have really been top class. There's not too many miss-hitting the ball or miss-cuing passes. Add to that the speed that they have, the youth and the confidence that's in the team at the moment," Murphy told the Waterford News & Star.

"They're going to take a lot of stopping to be honest with you. That's a great challenge for us and it's nice to get another crack at them."
