Limerick manager John Kiely is looking forward to his first competitive game in charge.

The Shannonsiders take on Waterford in the Munster SHL at Dungarvan on Sunday afternoon as the Kiely reign begins in earnest.

And he has vowed to the Limerick Leader to give all players in his 39-man squad a run out in the Munster SHL.

"Every game that a lad togs out and plays for his county is an important game," stated Kiely.

"We have got these four games in the Munster Hurling League in the next couple of weeks which is great for us.

"We have a large panel, so the games are opportunities for fellas to put their hand up and look for inclusion on the panel for the National Hurling League.

"The lads have been working hard for the last couple of weeks and they would want to get a bit of a return on that training, so the games are important from that perspective."
