Galway SHC: Beagh set up Gort date

November 24, 2014

Beagh are through to the semi final.

Beagh, who were reinstated to the Galway SHC after Turloughmore were ejected for fielding an ineligible player, are through to the semi-finals after overcoming Ardrahan by 0-13 to 0-9 in Athenry yesterday.

The quarter-final, which was held up for nearly two months by Turloughmore's appeal, saw Beagh pull clear in the second half after they had held a slender 0-6 to 0-5 lead at the break. Ardrahan's cause wasn't helped by the dismissal of Damien O'Shaughnessy when there was just two points between the sides.

Padraig Landers and Rory Gantley were among those to impress for a Beagh side who will now meet south Galway rivals Gort next Sunday in Athenry for a place in the county final against All-Ireland champions Portumna.
