Wexford's Lee Chin consoles Gavin O'Brien of Waterford after the game. INPHO
There was just one game down for decision in the hurling championship this weekend with Wexford advancing at the expense of neighbours Waterford.

1. Stephen O'Keeffe (Waterford)

The Deise custodian was forced to pick the sliotar out of his net on three occasions but he had little chance with each of Wexford's goals.

2. Liam Ryan (Wexford)

Ryan and his full-back line colleagues had the measure of the Waterford full-forward line trio.

3. Matthew O'Hanlon (Wexford)

Another rousing performance from the Wexford captain who sung the praises of the county's supporters after the final whistle.

4. Noel Connors (Waterford)

The former All-Star will be disappointed that Waterford failed to secure the win on his return from injury.

5. Andrew Shore (Wexford)

Shore can be pleased with his contribution as the Wexford bandwagon rolls on to face Limerick in Thurles.

6. Eoin Moore (Wexford)

Another fine outing from the centre-back who superbly marshalled the Wexford defence.

7. Kevin Moran (Waterford)

The experienced defender battled bravely throughout and remains a key component in Derek McGrath's plans for the future.

8. Michael Walsh (Waterford)

'Brick' played an instrumental role in the Deise's revival after they fell seven points in arrears by the 40th minute.

9. Lee Chin (Wexford)

A contender for 'man-of-the-match, the Model County midfielder produced an all-action display.

10. Paul Morris (Wexford)

Waterford found Morris too hot to handle and he finished the match with 1-6 (1-3 from play) to his name.

11. Podge Doran (Wexford)

The Model County's centre-forward contributed two points to his side's 3-15 total.

12. Austin Gleeson (Waterford)

The Deise youngster can consider himself unfortunate to have ended up on the losing side.

13. Colin Dunford (Waterford)

Dunford hit Wexford for two goals inside three minutes but his efforts proved to be to no avail.

14. Conor McDonald (Wexford)

The teenage full-forward caused all sorts of problems for the Deise full-back line and helped himself to 1-2.

15. Liam Og McGovern (Wexford)

McGovern created the opening for McDonald's goal on the stroke of half-time and also raised two white flags.
