Maher in injury scare

Tipperary's Brendan Maher
Tipperary are confident that midfielder Brendan Maher will be fit for next Sunday's All-Ireland hurling final, despite suffering an injury scare at the weekend.
The Borrisoleigh clubman injured his wrist during a training break in Maynooth's Carton House on Saturday, but the injury isn't believed to be serious and the former All-Ireland minor winning captain will be fit to line out against Kilkenny.
Meanwhile, John Tennyson is on course to replace the injured Brian Hogan at centre back on the Kilkenny team after he reported no ill-effects from a training session on Saturday. Like Henry Shefflin, Tennyson has been receiving intensive treatment on a cruciate ligament injury.
Danefort's Paddy Hogan - an older brother of Richie's - is also an option after he was withdrawn from the Kilkenny intermediate team which defeated Cork in the All-Ireland final at Semple Stadium on Saturday evening.
