Limerick goalkeeper Tadgh Flynn is expected to make a quick recovery from the neck injury he sustained in Sunday's NHL defeat to Waterford at Fraher Field.
Fears mounted when the Ahane shot-stopper fell to the ground after an accidental clash with Waterford's Eoin McGrath which saw him having to be immobilised and placed on spinal board and then removed by the ground via an ambulance.
However, after being released from hospital that night, it has now emerged that Flynn should be fit to resume training in the next few days, although he is not expected to play against Tipperary on Sunday.
"Whatever way he fell, he was a small bit concussed, but he was fine again last night - our own senior hurling manager spoke to him and confirmed that," a spokesman from the Ahane club told the Irish Examiner.
"He'll probably miss the next match, but that will be a call by the Limerick medical team.
"He was taken to hospital but it was purely as a precautionary measure. The paramedics at the game weren't sure whether or not there was a problem and in that situation you can't take any chances, so he was immobilised and taken to hospital. He is okay now and will be fine in a few days."
