Second half display pleases Sheedy

Former Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy
Liam Sheedy expressed satisfaction with Tipperary's impressive second half performance which saw them outscore Galway by 1-11 to 0-1 at Semple Stadium.

"Words at cheap, at the end of the day, it is hurling that counts," said the Tipp supremo when asked what he said to his players at half-time.

"In fairness, we were disappointed with the first half performance, but there was a stiff enough breeze down there. Even allowing for that, we didn't attack the ball at all. Thankfully, there was a second half!"

He added: "We were lucky to be within four points at half-time. We were lucky to get the goal. I mean, the goal was a great flick by Johnno (O'Brien), but we were not in a position where were expecting a goal.

"We go the break then in the second half with the goal (scored by Noel McGrath). A lot of positives to take out of that second half."

Unusually, Galway manager John McIntyre didn't speak to the media afterwards.
