The late Brendan Timothy The death occurred of Mr Brendan Timothy, Creggs Road, Glenamaddy in the loving care of his family. Brendan had retired from his teaching post at the Community School, Glenamaddy laving earlier served at St Benin's Vocational School, Glenamaddy and at the Gairm Scoil on the Aran Islands. Throughout his life he was a great community man and involved in many voluntary organisations. He served as an officer of Glenamaddy GAA club for many years and was the proud holder of an All-Ireland medal he had won with St Brendan's GAA club in the Scor quiz team competition many years ago. His remains reposed at his residence before being removed to the local St Patricks church and the burial took place to the New Cemetery after the celebration of Mass of the Resurrection. He is survived by his wife Teresa (nee Galvin, Ballygar), sons Ronan and Brendan, daughter Aoife and Blathnaid, brother Pat, sisters Chris, Evelyn and Tess, daughter in law, Annette, sons in law Clyn, grandchildren Soirse, Riona an Saibh, extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends. There was a very large attendance on both days of his funeral and members of Glenamaddy GAA club formed a guard of honour at his funeral. Courtesy of the Connacht Tribune 13 April 2007
