Galway U21 football captain Fintan O Curraoin has hailed the input of former county stars Declan Meehan and Paul Clancy to the team's run to Saturday's All-Ireland final against Cork.
The 1998 and 2001 All-Ireland winners are part of a management team that also consists of Alan Flynn (manager) and Donal O Flatharta.
"Two legends really, to have involved. They've really brought their experience, tried to transfer it to us as much as they can," O Curraoin explained to the Irish Times.
"And it's really working. At half-time, during the game (against Kildare), it's brilliant for them to give the few words, drive you on."
In the All-Ireland semi-final, O Curraoin renewed his midfield partnership with the fit-again Tomas Flynn for the first time since the 2011 All-Ireland final, when the Tribesmen enjoyed a comfortable win over Cavan. Along with Tomas Healy (who was the sub goalkeeper on that occasion), they are the only survivors from that team.
"Yeah, it was brilliant to see Tomas come on in the Connacht final. We were down a bit and he came on and pushed us on. He was out for nine months and to come on and do that was a real credit."
