Well done to our Senior hurlers who had a good win (2-18 to 1-15) over Moycullen in the first round of the Senior Championship last weekend. They now advance to the Group stages. Pearses: Fearghal Flannery; Anthony Kenny, Tomás Kenny, Páiric Raftery; Richie Lally, Shane Raftery (0-2), Kerrill Hardiman; Seán Hardiman, Jimmy Gelston; Darragh Skehill (0-1), Cormac Ward (1-2), Cyril Donnellan (1-3); Gary Lally, Emmett Ward (0-1), Tomás Flannery (0-9). Subs used: Ronan Bellew, Colm Raftery, Robbie Donnellan, Tommy McDonagh.
There were also wins last week for our U10 and U16 hurlers. The U10s defeated Meelick-Eyrecourt in the League 7-8 to 3-1, their third win in-a-row. The U16s played Liam Mellows last week in Ballymacward and were easy winners 5-12 to 1-10. Their second win from two Championship games. Pearses U16: Matthew Walsh; Ronan Carr, Keith Connell, Ronan Flannery; Dermot Byrnes, Ronan O'Neill, Seán Flaherty; Brian Sweeney (2-6), Conor O'Neill (0-1); Daniel Masterson (1-0), Matthew Ruane, Eoin Burke; Darragh Healy, Lee Murphy (1-5), Emmet Costello (1-0). Sub used: Keith Lally.
Our minor footballers lost out to Williamstown in the League, however they will contest the Shield Semi-Final against Killererin. The U14 hurlers were defeated (4-7 to 1-7) by Carnmore in the Championship last week.
Winners of the first '250 Club' Monthly Draw, held in McGann's, Attymon were as follows: 1st Prize (€100) Breda Laheen, 2nd Prize (€75) Noel Burke and 3rd Prize (€50) Collette Kennedy-Walsh.
