The Late Michael J Joyce

The death occurred in New Jersey recently of a Tuam native, Michael J Joyce who worked for the New York Times.

Mr. Joyce was a native of Grange, Tuam and passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

He raised his family in Bogota before moving to River Edge, New Jersey. He was the past manager of Gaelic Football at both St. Joseph was The Good Sheppard. He was also a member of the Bergen Irish Association. Before retiring he worked for The New York Times.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne ( White); his children, Anne Marie Delesandro, Della and husband James F. Carroll, Michael and wife Laura, Patrick and wife Heather and John Joyce; his siblings, Thomas, Patrick, Stephen Nora and Juliet; his brother-in-law,Joseph White; and his grandchildren, Shannon, Caitlin, Brett, Meaghan, Alie, A.J., Kelsey, Makayla and Tony.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Margaret, Mae, John, Kathleen, Delia and Peter, and his sister-in-law, Kathleen.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Peter and Apostle RC Church in River Edge, with interment at St. Anthony Cemetery in Nanuet, New York.
