Galway debuts for Moore and O'Loughlin

February 18, 2004
Fergal Moore and Johnny O'Loughlin will make their debuts for Galway in Sunday's National Hurling League clash with Dublin at Parnell Park. Moore, who captained the under 21 side which reached the All-Ireland final last year, starts at wing back, while O'Loughlin is positioned at right corner forward. A notable absentee from the team is midfielder Richie Murray who has dropped himself off the panel. Murray, who was just 19 when he played in the 2001 All-Ireland final against Tipperary, intimated that he was heading to the US. But so far he has not gone and Galway hurling secretary Phelim Murphy says that if he does remain in Ireland, he will be invited back onto the squad. Galway (SH v Dublin): L Donoghue; D Joyce, D Cloonan, O Canning; D Hardiman, T Og Regan, F Moore; D Tierney, F Healy; D Forde, M Kerins, K Broderick; J O'Loughlin, E Cloonan, D Hayes.
