John Meyler fancies Limerick to dethrone Galway in Sunday's All-Ireland SHC final.

The Treaty County eliminated Meyler's Cork side in a thrilling semi-final after extra time and the Rebel boss expects John Kiely's exciting young charges to claim the Liam MacCarthy Cup this weekend for the first time in 45 years:

"I think the impetus is with Limerick. They've shown a maturity all year," he comments in The Irish Examiner.

"They showed that character and resilience and then the fact that Galway haven't really been firing… They've been putting up early scores against Clare in both games: going five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten points up and then the other team coming back into it.

"Clare had the chance with Shanagher the last day when he hit the post and Tony Kelly coming out with the last ball. Galway haven't hit 70 minutes. If they do hit 70 minutes, they could possibly shade it. But, overall, Limerick's consistency has been better than Galway's consistency."
