A three-week break until the Leinster SHC final is just what the doctor ordered for Galway according to their manager Micheál Donoghue.
Three games in a fortnight were beginning to take their toll as Galway rounded off their Leinster SHC round robin campaign with a win over Dublin last weekend.
They had already booked their place in the provincial final a week earlier when they routed Wexford in their third game.
Now, they will take on Kilkenny in the decider and Donoghue states in the Connacht Tribune that the three-week break before the final is badly needed.
"It's a tough schedule, but we now have three weeks to focus on the Leinster final," said Donoghue. "We have a strong panel and there is huge competition for places, that's the environment these players have created."
