Martin won't go defensive against Tribesmen

Offaly boss Kevin Martin says his team will be going "man on man" against Galway in this Sunday's Allianz League clash in Salthill.

The Faithful men are 10/1 underdogs to down the All-Ireland champions on their home turf, having been defeated by the same opposition in last year's Leinster semi-final by 19 points.

While some managers would be tempted to deploy a sweeper system against such a deadly attack which the Tribesmen possess, Martin says he'll be doing nothing of the sort this weekend.

"That game doesn't suit us, as it proved. We have to attack teams if we're going to get anywhere in hurling," the Tullamore man told the Irish Daily Mirror.

"That's the way I look at it. So it'll be man on man against Galway and we'll see how we fare out. We're going down to the lion's den now and nobody expects us to win. We're going out to try and win and we'll probably try out a couple of players as well to see are they up to the level.

"Just see where that takes us after that. Nobody expects us to win so we'll give what we can give and the result will look after itself then."
