Experience told the Nire have been there before . On another note Gleeson is one of the best u21 footballers in the country pity for Waterford football that he is also a fantastic hurler

Don't say things like that or Tadhg Kennelly will be after him ;-)

I wasn't surprised with this result.Ok,i thought Carbery might sneak it with the game in Clonakilty but the Nire have Munster pedigree.Carbery have not.Good to see the Deise reach a Munster club final in the small ball game and while i fancy a Crokes win they will have to bring their A-game(or close enough) to beat The Nire.

After Clonmel won last year, Waterford are the last county in Munster not to win a football senior title.

It would be fantastic for them to do so.

Me too.

A lot of criticism in Cork for Carbery Rangers. Mostly from 'hurlers on ditches' who don't have a clue. The Nire are a fine side. It was a nip and tuck game that could have went either way. There was a massive crowd in Clonakilty (Cork footballers should play home league games there), real championship match and Nire won. Hope they can win now but I also fancy Dr Crokes.

I see where the Nire's manager is also the Fourmilewater hurling manager. Same players playing for both codes in the one parish. That's one way to ensure there's no clash!

Football has been the number one sport in the parish and have recently began to excel in hurling. Ballymacabry also in this parish are one of the most successful womens teams in Munster ladies football and were to the fore in the 90's with Michael Ryan as manager who later managed the Waterford Senior hurling team . Great when things go right in a club

Carbery were missing four players. John O'Rourke was injured. Carbery Rangers are a match for any side in the country fully fit.

I wouldn't be too smart about Cork club football. Nemo had Clonmel beaten last year except for a exceptionally lucky late goal. Clonmel if they had a bit of cuteness should have had Ballyboden beaten so in most cases there is only a kick of a ball between most elite club teams
