Can Dublin Ladies appeal?

They lost by a point but the umpire ruled a clear point as a wide!!! They must appeal this.

So what happened, the umpire waved wide and the ref overruled him?

Not a hope, no such rule exists.

Cork captain then goes and thanks the officials.......no wonder

What's the story with Hawkeye I thought the ref gets a buzz if there's any doubt about it?

They certainly should.

I presume they can't appeal.

That's just football sometimes. It's a pity for both teams.

No I believe there is no provision in Ladies football for the use of Hawkeye which is why that perfectly good point was ruled wide, so I guess the matter is dead harsh on the Dublin girls. TG4 shows it celarly was a point.

No only teams from Meath are guilted into offering replays

Whatever BS reason there is for not using Hawkeye today needs to be changed. That's the only thing that will come from this.

It's tough on the Dublin girls. They score 1-7 and Cork score 1-7 but Cork get the Cup. It's tough but that's the nature of sport.

It's also tough on Cork to a certain extent too as people will always question this win. At least they've got plenty more wins!

Didnt Carlow (could be wrong) offer a replay to some county over a point that was given incorrectly as a wide, many years back..I didnt see the game but it beggars belief as to why Hawkeye wasnt in operation.

Not as tough but it still isn't nice for them.

All anyone is talking about now is the controversy rather than they're win which will forever have an asterisk beside it.

They don't deserve that either.

Replay can't and won't happen because its a final , a trophy was presented on the day, and because the ladies game has a status higher than the Christy Ring Cup. Meath were forced into a replay in this years Christy Ring final for no other reason than the powers that be don't give 2 hoots about hurling at the lower levels.

Meh. The "wide" happened in the first half. Dublin had well over a half an hour to go and win the match and they didn't. Cork dominated in the second half and took their chances much better. Dublin lost because their shooting and decision making was terrible more than anything.

Laois offered a replay to Carlow in 1995 after we were given a point for a clear wide.
