Could John small play in the half forwards ?

(Oldest Posts First)

After seen how well Small played in the drawn final during the match I starting thinking when ROC and McCaffery are back and we are going for three in a row two in a row?

Is this a mad idea all together. I can remember in a few O'Byrne cup games I think it was, Philly was tried in the half forwards but it did not work.

I think his Ballymun clubmate could make a better job of such an experiment?

I think it's more likely that Jack Mc might be tried at wing forward if he returns given the struggle Flynn has had to maintain form and manage injuries this year. Small would be more solid defensively and Jacks pace could be vital to break the gain line against crowded defences.

I think James Mc Carthy would be a great midfielder, massive mobility, although at 22 Brian Fenton is a fantastic all round player.

I like the cut of your jib. I'd like to see James and Fenton there too. Both have great engines. That would be a smashing half back line of Small, COS, Jack. Butsy and Lowndes would be good cover options too.
