But, they are going to ship a truckload of goals, be eaten alive by o'donoghue and get well beaten.

I actually think Galway will give Kerry a game. Kerry are possibly being over hyped due tho their Munster Final form against a Cork team that didn't show up. Who know's what could happen. Galway have plenty of young fast players like Walsh and Lundy running at a not so formidable Kerry defense. Of course Galway have a weak defense too. It could be a high scoring game.

This will be very high scoring I'd say. Galway could hurt Kerry at the back but as others have said I shudder to think what the Kerry forwards will do to what looks a very shaky Galway back line.

Kerry by a cricket score.
Galway will be way too open and O'Donoghue will rip them to shreds.
Get on him POTY now before his odds are slashed after this game!

Mayo would be hoping for a Galway performance id say to stop the mighty Kingdom

What exactly are people basing kerry having a weak defence on? They had the best defensive record in division 1 prior to the dead rubber game against cork!

Kerry to win well.

Any team that shipped four goals against Tipperary is going to have a long afternoon against Kerry.

All 4 goals were scored by tipp when the game was over- which it was after 40 mins.

It took cork until injury time to beat tipp.

Hard to see anything else but a thumping win for Kerry.

Doesn't matter when the goals were scored. A mean, tight defence never wants to concede goals.

lowball I think that is a good point you make. While the game was a contest, Galway had restricted Tipp to 8 points in 40 minutes. Is O'Donnell likely to be fit for the weekend? He seems to provide much of Galways physical strength in the back 6 and so I presume would be an important man to start.

The penalty given to Tipp was for an imaginary foot check but I would agree that there was a Galway fadeout that the likes of Kerry would punish you for. Playing a 60 minute game against Kerry will not work for the Tribe like they did in 08

A rusty looking Kerry to win by 3-4 points.

Given the great history between Kerry and Galway, I would never take their challenge lightly.

I was there in 2008, the last time we crossed paths. What a wonderful and surreal game that was, the lights dazzling us as the heavens heaved forth what seemed like all the water in the world and yet those 30 men on the pitch waltzed while most of us ran for shelter! I hazard a guess that only Kerry and Galway, with wonderful their traditions of producing such wonderfully skilful players, could have produced a spectacle like that.

I distinctly remember a young Michael Meehan tormenting our full back line until a certain Daniel Bohane was sprung from the bench and managed to reel him in. I left the game thinking I had given witness to the emergence of two truly great players, but sport is so terribly cruel.

Football desperately needs Galway to be strong and contending again, its a tragedy for our game they have been in the mire so long, but for obvious reasons I hope Sunday is not the day they decide to make their comeback to the big stage!

Confident of a Kerry win, but expecting a tough, tough battle!

By the way, just one quick question is this game on a 2pm or 4pm. I heard originally it was meant to be first game of the double-header but think I heard on radio yesterday that Cork v Mayo is the match on at 2.

Actually think this game will be closer than people think although I would find it difficult to pick anything other than a Kerry win. Still hard to judge exactly how good Kerry are as Cork simply never turned up for the Munster final. I think Galway could score a lot on Kerry but probably concede even more at the other end. If we could get a good foothold in midfield though which is certainly possible, it could make it interesting.

Gary O Donnell shipped a bad knock at the weekend on his shoulder- touch and go to start I'd say. We'd have no fear about playing Daithi Burke if hes out. Hes a good player.

In an ideal world we wouldn't have conceded any goals but we scored 2-8 in the second half and won the game very easily. We're no world beaters but have the bones of a v good team coming.

Should be a shoot out and we are really looking forward to it in Galway.

If O'Donughue and Geaney get any kind of decent amount of ball this game will end up a cricket score.

I think you are slightly over estimating Kerry there Traleenative. It can be argued that Walshe, Cummins, Conroy, Armstrong (if started)and Lundy will go to town on that Kerry defence. The best player in the country over the last 10 years is Declan O Sullivan. If you take him out of the Kerry team, its fair to say they are the worst Kerry team in many's a long year, and a Munster final win over a Cork team which did'nt function on the day is merely disguising that fact
