Casey O'Brien has been appointed the new manager of the wicklow senior hurling team. his backroom team has also been released in the wicklow people today.
he obviously faces a tough task trying to revive the flagging fortunes of the wicklow hurling scene, how do ye think he will get on??

Lads, Will someone tell your new county hurling manager that his team are in the Christy Ring Cup next year, and not the Rackard Cup. After the Antrim saga last year, no team was relegated from the Ring Cup or McCarthy Cup. So therefore Wicklow have been drawn against Mayo in the opening round of the Ring Cup on the 8th May in Wicklow.

i wish casey o'brien the very best of luck for 2010, with alot of effort and hardwork, hopfully he will be able to help the team progress........heard hes bringing in alot of young talented hurlers onto the panel, most notably Pete Keane, and Jack Tanner, along with a few others, this will help to the develop youths for inter county hurling in years to come.

Hopefully O'Brien wont make the same mistake and go with the majority of lads from last year that proved they were neither good enough or strong enough to even beat the likes of Armagh. Lets hope he brings back a few of the players that have left the inter-county and as for all this under-age talent that people are talking about, maybe the fact that Louth beat our under 21 team we havent won an underage game in donkey years will show that most of these are not anywhere near the level of senior inter county
