What if???

(Oldest Posts First)

A few years ago when the whole dubs owning croker thing was going full tilt a number of posters said the reason that the reason get to warm up all the time into the Hill and the home dressing room is because the gaa decide alphabetically who gets to avail of this.

If Armagh are drawn to face the dubs does that mean they get to warm up into the hill and the home dressing room.

It's not an anti dub thing here btw, im just curious to see what happens.

That's the rule.

I assume it means Armagh get the choice.

They may not wish to warm up in front of the likes of Liamo, Damo, Jimbo etc with their uncouth accents and general prole utterances.

You obviously don't know Armagh and their fans to well.

If that alphabetical thing is true, then meath should always have the home dressing room when playing Dublin and be given the chance to warm up in front of the hill. The Irish for Meath is An Mhí

"An" as in "An Mhí" or "An Clár" is a definitive article therefore is not used for alphabetical ordering.

It's equivalent in English is "the".

The Netherlands would come under 'N' alphabetically and the UK would come under 'U' rather than either of them being filed under 'T'.

I always imagined they would drop the An because it means the.

If that's the case, then that's the case, no problem.

So if Dublin are playing The Netherlands then the Dutch will have to make do with warming up in front of the Canal End

Did Kildare warm up in front of the hill against Dublin? I normally only get in just in time for "the song" :-)
