Clare v Tipperary (Hurling)

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

This all-Munster affair on Saturday afternoon sees the winners advancing into next month's All-Ireland SHC semi-finals. Can Clare cause an upset against the Premier men this weekend?

This thread will be used to discuss the game at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Clare have several players to trouble Tipperary and this one could go to the wire.
Hard to call and I'm not looking forward to it.
Tipp are not in the groove and Clare with a point to prove could be our downfall.
Would a Clare win surprise me...No.

Fingers crossed we will win this one. I think our lads will enjoy playing in the new stadium. It looks like it will be a full house so the atmosphere should be electric.

I give our lads a tentative nod. Both teams have been disappointing this year but I think the wins over Westmeath and Dublin are helping to build confidence again.

Like wild pundit I wouldn't be surprised if Clare won.

Clare seem to be in the media a lot lately where as Tipp very quite. I know it's only Tuesday but seen several articles already from Clare players.
Not that it will influence the game or anything but Tipp camp just that bit quite even since the Cork game.

Any wonder Tipp have been quiet with no media focus on them and their games in the backdoor up to now foregone conclusions before a sliotar was pucked.

Full house? Id didint think it would make 30k. Hope your right. No excuses for Clare anymore. If there was ever a time to get it right then this is surely it.

Nothing Clare did against Cork would worry me. They're capable of beating us but we need a lot more from some of their big players.

I think it will be very tight on Saturday, but does it really matter who wins, prolonging the agony you could say,as Galway will be way to goodfor either us or the banner,Liam is galways to for

Massive game for Tipp. Win and you'd fancy them to get to September. What is their true form though. They haven't been tested in the last 2 games. If Clare put it up to them, as they are very capable of, how will Tipp re-act. Only then will we see where they are really at on Saturday. I get the feeling that they aren't really motoring properly this year and are hoping for a big performance rather than where they were last year when they were just driven towards winning it out. One thing that they have is very talented players and if they scrape through will be dangerous opponents in Croke Park. Hard game to call. You would need to see 25 mins to know who has turned up better.

Apparently so. Cork county board are predicting two full houses. Maybe they are saying to get some fans to buy quickly I'm a cunning marketing ploy.

If they play like they did against Cork we should win but that would involve Clare taking pot shots from far out and ignoring the full forward line. I'm assuming they will rectify that though.

Clare haven't beaten a team of considerable force in Championship since 2013. While they might be up for this I'm not sure if they are mentally strong enough to overcome Tipp.

I hope its a competitive match - cant see past Tipp though

Thanks PJ saves us the bother of asking every individual Limerick person.

You see more Clare jerseys in Limerick than Limerick jerseys these days!! Maybe they all converted since the county border is in the city!!!!

Yeah spot on. I can see you broadly doing the same to them as Cork i.e. lead for almost the whole match and end up winning by 5 or 6 points.

No offence but I hope I'm wrong. I'd feel more confident playing Clare than yourselves in the final!*

*optimism isn't usually my strong point but I'm allowing myself to get carried away for another few days anyways!

Going down in hope rather than expectation. Very vulnerable in positions 3 to 6 as well as between the posts.
