What an outragus decision this weekend by the GAA to close hill 16...theres already more than 50000 tickets sold and its only friday...you wouldnt see this in any other sport...typical GAA money grabbers and in saying that all players will have to go to work the week after to make a wage!

They are apparantly getting ready for Coldplay the following weekend..money and music is more important than our national game and its its only GAA head quarters where they are having it!

The money the GAA get from Concerts should go into an extra fund to develop the games for weaker counties around the country.

They make enough money out of hosting them gigs after all.

I agree. It is outrageous that our games are affected by staging concerts in our national stadium.

Is this definite (I can't find info on it)? Very disappointing if that's the case. This is likely to be the highest attended Leinster hurling final in 20 years, and at least the 4th most attended hurling game this year. That's what Croke Park was built for, it should be a unique event/atmosphere. I have no problem with concerts in Croke Park, but they shouldn't impact on staging the biggest games of the summer.

At least they should offer Canal End tickets at a cheaper price to counteract the lack of cheaper terrace tickets on the Hill, this is the kind of decision that gives fuel to so many people's fires, utterly silly.

Coldplay and music in the same sentence? Something's not right there!

That is an utter farce.

Fans should have a right to standing, to categorised prices as they wish, and to create an atmosphere for their team of which the Hill is central too.

Should being the key word there as the powers that be make it up as they go along.

Not to mention it is a showpiece being a Leinster final with the biggest interest in years. The irony being they are so happy to sell their product off to Sky to "market our game", yet their iconic stand will be shut and empty for the cameras, try explaining that to some first time viewer.

Games like this is the perfect chance to promote hurling and now we are looking at a big blank space on the hill which makes the game less important...typical gaa they do apsulotly nothing to promote hurling and they are the first people to brag about our great game when important people come into this country...

The GAA should spend a bit of money and get rid of the hill once and for all.

It looks desperate and the stadium looks unfinished.

If we get the rugby World Cup then they should make it a priority to burry it under a proper structure, I know the dart runs at the back of it but they could work around it I'm sure.

cheaper terrace tickets should be available to all counties when they play in croker regardless of demand, a solicitor would have a field day with this in court if anyone ever wanted to take it that far, cheap tickets available to Dublin when they play there but no one else it be a easy win

62,000 and there'd only be a few hundred on the Hill apparently. What a joke !

This was well flagged weeks ago the terrace is closed to facilitate the removal of the barriers for the stage for Coldplay - tickets went on sale 2016!! Tickets for concerts next year are already on sale.

Besides you think if had nothing to do with demand or Dublin for that matter..!

For the umpteened time it was because of a concert upcoming at the venue....

Wrong decision but as usual just blame the Dubs...! Lazy post there by you...!

Yeah, crazy stuff. The biggest Leinster hurling final attendance since the 50's. The biggest hurling provincial final attendance in decades full-stop. And they close Hill 16 to facilitate a concert. The barriers were only removed on the bottom third of the terrace, could they not have at least opened up the other two thirds of the terrace? We don't get too many spectacles like this in hurling in a year, they have to be maximized when they come along.

I've no problem with concerts in Croke Park, but they're supposed to be a means to an end, not the end itself.
