Galway by whatever they want I'm afraid. Without been heavily tested so far they have a chance to give some of panel game time before a Leinster final. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 14/06/2017 18:41:20 1999696 Link 0 |
Think myself that Offaly will beat that handicap. Think we will win by 10 to 12 points.

Tipp played Offaly in challenge last week, played for 50minutes, Tipp had 4 normal starters rest were fringe players. 8-22 to 12 points, Offaly had full team out.Galway will win this by 30 plus points therealtmo (Tipperary) - Posts: 1292 - 14/06/2017 19:23:47 1999707 Link 0 |
it gives me no pleasure to see offaly where they are.but they have no hope whatsoever of winning this game. perfect10 (Wexford) - Posts: 3929 - 14/06/2017 20:54:22 1999734 Link 0 |

Offaly have never been a team to bother their barney in challenge matches. They'll have a bit more about them in this match -- but not a lot more

They will face off again in the minor final? Are they going to merge the best of both teams in an effort to beat Galway in the final?

Imagine how tough and competitive Leinster would be if Offaly were able to get up to the standard that they used to be at. Would arguably be stronger than Munster Pikeman17 (Wexford) - Posts: 22 - 15/06/2017 09:51:59 1999839 Link 0 |
This perception the players of the 80s & 90s not giving anything back is just plain wrong. Most, if not all, have given their time and efforts to try get offaly hurling back. Joe Dooley and Brian Whelehan have managed the senior team, John Troy, Duignan, Daithi Regan, Johnny Dooley and Stephen Byrne have all been selectors at some stage Byrne managed the under 21s, Johnny Pilkington, Joe Errity, Johnny Dooley have all managed the minor team. Simon and Barry Whelehan have been involved in development squads. Duignan and Regan managed Ballinamere to the first minor title last year. And that's just off the top of my head. The 80s & 90s were a fluke, offaly hurling was nothing before then and it's gone back to nothing again. The county board are so far behind the times in developing underage it's laughable. Last year we had reasonable success at 15,16 and 17 level but all of the managers were replaced. Unfortunately it's not going to change anytime soon tonorio (Offaly) - Posts: 608 - 15/06/2017 10:41:30 1999863 Link 1 |
Cocky , seriously no one knows much about Galway as always , off down to Portlaoise challenge match v Clare combined 17s and minors , 7 of our starting line up on Sunday in the 17s final have started for the minor team in championship this year . Kilkenny big , strong and skilful as you'd expect this year having seen them , one son of a DJ Carey involved also Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 15/06/2017 10:57:06 1999872 Link 0 |
If Galway win provincials in hurling and football will they be the first county to do so in the same year in different provinces? GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7345 - 15/06/2017 11:27:01 1999881 Link 0 |
tonorio,as we learned in wexford, you can give the top jobs to the top men but for maybe 5-10 years you have to get the top men in charge of the lower teams. perfect10 (Wexford) - Posts: 3929 - 15/06/2017 13:24:35 1999925 Link 0 |
