Replying To seanie_boy:  "Also just like to acknowledge the absolutely wonderful magnanimity shown in victory from many of the Dublin players to Sean Cavanagh. Quite emotional for Sean obviously and really nice to see the very genuine moments of comraderie shown between them all, as footballers and as men."
now those who follow tyrone and are roaring on the cavanagh's can get stuck into them in the county championship

Not at all. I said Tyrone were useless, nothing more nothing less, and they proved me right. One dimensional, no plan b, they not up and coming if they continue with harte. It could do irreparable damage to a young team. Tyrone remind me of Meath from 01 to 05 , we kept a genius too long and the damage it done did us no good. Now at the time I said he should remain, as they say hindsight is 20/20 vision. Tyrone are making same mistake. Blanket defence system is dead. Can't keep doing same thing expecting different results. Hard luck today, for what it's worth I wanted you to win, like any Meath man would, but I just didn't rate this Tyrone set up.

Ah thanks RD, I didn't want to insult Tyrone but they were awful.

i though Tyrone froze today in the first 15-20min and your dead duck if you don't get pressure on the Dubs early on

Do you think he would have if it was tight? Nonsense and paranoia.

Absolute cobblers. McGregor was NEVER in the fight and Mayweather toyed with him. Biggest con job since Dick Turpin held up the London - Edinburgh stagecoach.

He'd stick Floyd's Head up his own arse in a real fight

Genius stuff from C McG made 10's of millions from an exhibition boxing match with nothing to lose

Replying To Cavan_Shambles:  "Hard to see anyone getting close to Dublin's level, they have the AI sewn up for the next decade if they want, they're reserves would beat any team in the country.

But how did the GAA allow a situation to develop where 4 counties ( Dublin city, Fingal, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, and South Dublin) are allowed to amalgamate and compete as one county? Surely this needs to be looked at?"
Did Legendxix move to Cavan?

One of the judges gave him the first 3 rounds, it would be a peculiar analyst that would think Tyrone were the better team for the first quarter of that game. Where the comparison may be helpful is McGregor was taking on a fighter in a sport somewhat comparable to what he is used to but significantly different in terms of skill, speed and precision!

I thought Dublin would win this game but did expect it to be close. Tyrone are much better than they showed today, they seemed nervous at the start and they lacked any intensity in the tackle. I was surprised how easily the Dublin players were able to breeze past their markers. Tyrone had a lot of men back but not getting in any tackles. This type of zonal marking blanket defence doesn't work against the top teams.

Con O'Callaghan is just incredible and Jack McCaffrey brilliant also. Look it wasn't Tyrone's day but they are still a good side and Sean Cavagh apart, they are a young side so can improve. However they would need to play with more players up front, Mark Bradley up their his own won't work.

Just one other thing, I was asking on this fourm during the week if Tyrone would push up on the Dublin kickout. They didn't and this turned out to be a huge tactical error, it just invited Dublin on to them. If you are to ave any hope of beating Dublin you need to disrupt their kickout.

The nature of this result didn't honestly surprise me, I haven't seen anything to suggest Tyrone were any better than last year, they waltzed through a very poor Ulster championship and stuffed another Ulster team in a quarter final, their smallest margin of victory in four games being 9 points. The Dubs are used to reaching this stage of the championship without being put to the pin of their collar by now, Tyrone are not used to having such an easy passage to a semi final and the ease of that passage was as much down to the poor standard of Ulster football than it was their own good play so I can't say I'm surprised by this result

Mick Lyons used to face the Hill before matches against the Dubs. Tyrone did a runner!

So disappointed - was expecting a massive battle today. Sad way for Sean Cavanagh to bid farewell but hats off to a wonderful career.

Well done Dublin

So what constitutes a 'real' fight jimbo? Two guys with flick knives, broken bottles, knuckledusters etc out in a sreet at 2 in the morning in Finglas, Ardoyne, Ballymun, Turf Lodge etcwith a baying, hollering mob? A real fight is two fellas gloved up, equal, in a ring.
