Leinster's top 6 forwards

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Any ideas on this lads? Leinster has probably the best pick of forwards in the country to be fair. Apart from the Gooch and MMurphy it's hard to pick forwards from anyother county who come close to the ones in Leinster.

For me its

John Doyle
Bernard Brogan
Ciaran Lyng
Ben Brosnan
Graham Reilly
Paul Flynn

Honurable mentions to Shane Lennon, Redmond Barry, James Stafford.

I've probably left some out here so work away.

really ? I would agree with Brogan. I would say the likes of Gooch, Declan O' Sullivan, Colm O' Neill, Colm McFadden, Eoin Bradley, Steven O' Neill, Andy Moran would push them close

Oh Lord I can see some sniping and arguing over this, the names you have there now are good forwards alright, hopefully come years end from a Meath point if view names like Wallace, Newman and Bray will also be contenders. Diarmuid Connolly is also in the mix, he just needs to keep his head focused. Dessie Dolan and Glennon from Westmeath are serious men, and a fit Leighton Glynn and Seanie Furlong could also fit comfortably in the same company as well as Niall McNamee of Offaly, all serious footballers who can be devastating on any given day

I suppose I'm trying to base this debate on current form.

The only fair way to do it I think.

A fit Alan Brogan or Seanie Johnston would be very close to getting a spot in that line up, as would an on form Connolly, Munnelly, Lennon or McCormack.

id somewhat agree with original poster. Perhaps brosnan deserves a mention. Our own stand out is of course reilly but like Richie said would hopefully see wallace and in particular Newman as I dont think sat game was a true reflection on his ability. By year end

Certainly did not. A thread on players in Leinster, not Leinster copmpared to other provinces, so his post was way off. I think youve misunderstood both.

Jinxie.

my post was regarding this line from Daytona

so, you have indeed misunderstood me and you are being a tad disingenuous

Whoever the current starting six for Meath are.

Sure aren't they the best in the country?

I'll have to take your word for it man.

I disagree but you have your right to an opinion. I'll remember that you think that Dublin have the greatest forward line of all time though for later threads.

Which 3 forward in Wexford would be better than Lyng? I'd have him ahead off Ben Brosnan anyway

Lyng has been a top player for a few year now.He has a lovely snappy left foot and great pace.I considered including Paul Barden but I think he is past his best now but Lyng gives balance to the forward line I picked
