Replying To beano:  "My team for Saturday, assuming everyone who was available vs. Dublin are available again:

Backs the same personnel- none of them got the run around last day really. Slight tweak though with Foley at 3, Matt at 6 and D.Reck at 7. Of all our options for CB, Matt probably has the know-how to drop back and cut off space when required.

Lawlor-Hearne.

Chin-Foley-ROC
Casey-Mac-Byrne

With the onus on Foley to drop back as a plus one when required. We need to go back to basics a bit and cut off space/protect our full-back line more. The volume of easy-to-prevent goals we have conceded already in an otherwise decent season is too high.

It was highlighted by Larry O in the Wexford Hurling podcast last week that at times we need someone to play sweeper even for a spell to protect what we have, and it was mentioned in this week's episode that someone had to take off a helmet and feign injury right at the death vs. Dublin, and that we are still naive. Both points are valid.

If Jacko is fit, slot him onto the wing and move his brother inside for Byrne."
Agree with you moving Damien to 7 makes sense and gives him more license to go forward . Cant see them changing him from 6 at this stage of the year though. Id agree Jacko has to start wing forward if fit. Personally think Mogie has to play too

Are the lads staying up in Belfast Friday or Saturday night? I'm hoping the fact Galway play the Cats Sunday will work in our favour. That will be a very intense game and we have an extra day to recover from our game which hopefully makes a difference with such a short turn around

Look if we can't beat Antrim we have no business being near a Leinster final. Hopefully the lads use the frustration from last week and bring a performance, although Antrim looked like they put nothing into last weekend, but they have been a shambles all year with players making themselves unavailable then back for championship.

Good stuff. Hopefully our lads can put in a good performance Saturday and can put the feet up at home while Galway and Kilkenny tear lumps out of each other!

Would be great to get a big win.
It would increase our chances of at least finishing in 3rd place. Most important thing is that we tighten up our defence. A sweeper would be our best option. If we can prevent goals been scored and surely at the other end with Chin, Rory, Mac, Casey, Mogie and either Dunbar or Cian Byrne we most definately will be well capable of running up a good total of goals and points. However if we don't play with intensity and allow them to stay with us deep into the game I would be very concerned.
Fact is, it's in their backyard, they will want to put on a good show in front of their supporters, we won't have too many travelling that distance, they will be hurt by that trouncing by the cats and will not fear Wexford.
It's a must win game for us and hopefully complacency doesn't set in.
Verdict--- wexford to win by 7 points.

Think Kevin Foley is the best man if we are looking to play a sweeper. In reality should we be looking to play a sweeper against Antrim no disrespect to them? I agree our forwards have plenty of scoring ability we need to be clinical and tight in defence

It's a valid question whether you like it or not. And before lads start listing off attributes such as work rate, athletic prowess, his ability to hassle and harry etc, the question the poster asked is about hurling ability. We surely have enough lads who can do the above. What we need are players with a bit of quality who can impact a game and make a difference. Richie is good in the air for sure but he doesn't contribute much in the scoring department. I've only seen glimpses of ability yet from him but definitely not enough to make him a starter at this stage of his career. I think he needs to work on his S&C too and maybe in a few years he could make a good midfielder as his work rate is not in question.

I don't think we need a sweeper, very few teams these days play with a sweeper but what they do do is that they have their centre-back dropping back in a pocket, I think that's a big issue for us right now, the centre-back needs to hold centre at all times

Everyone can improve, but like I said before if you're going to single somebody out Richie is a long way down the list.

Only 2 changes to the Antrim team as announced, although Ryan Elliott will play the whole game if not sent off. Molloy and Boyd starting. Still expecting them to be way stronger than last weekend.

Hard to believe that there are no Faythe Harriers players on the minor team. The full panel is 34.
Surely something very wrong with the structures of the town team. Not even one on the bench or extended panel. Very poor.

Has to be said reading down through the list of clubs the net has been cast pretty wide.

I read a match report on Kilkenny Antrim and had it at 4.

I could easily be wrong but I'd be surprised if the team named is the team that starts.
