Its tipp and Kilkenny, Potentially Waterford as rank outsiders who will win Liam.

In football any one of Dublin, Kerry or Mayo will win sam.

Its about even, 3 realistic teams in each code in my view.

After that you're straw clutching."
Spot on.

It makes me laugh how some hurling people turn into zealots.

I like both hurling and football, with a preference for football.

I know football in leinster is f**ked, munster football is improving, connacht remains competitive and the standard is decent.

But in hurling there are only three provinces, Munster hurling, munster hurling, MUNSTER hurling? :)

Well maybe munster (just for TRADITION etc ), then galway and the cats.
With the yellow/purple belly manager making noise about hurling.
That is it really.

Also how many good matches were there in hurling last year?

The truth is fewer counties play hurling then football, and like an endangered species backed into a corner, the people who see hurling as the be all and end all, struggle to justify "standard" and "competitiveness".

As the joke goes there is no such thing as a bad game of hurling.

"...barring the 90's where we'd as big of spread of AI's as there's ever been."

Wrong. Six different counties won the AI in the 1990's; as did six in the 1920's. But, between 1913 and 1919 seven different counties won the hurling AI. Kilkenny. Clare, Laois, Tipperary, Dublin, Limerick & Cork.

Apologies, I should have said "in living memory" unless you are Methuselah.

Has a hurling team ever been unbeaten for 35 matches?

You reference Mayo who just lacerated by a Dublin B selection and lucky not to lose by twice the score

We're lucky we are playing ye in the tight confines of ASP as otherwise we'd suffer a similar fate to Mayo however that won't be any good or benefit to us if we meet again later in year

Just look at the bookies odds - even money in a 32 horse race tells you all you need to know
