Replying To St.Conleth:  "If its attitude Ziggy then the problem is the players.

What has Clare playing so well, is it attitude? Or do they have decent players? I think both but they're not getting any credit.

Regarding Cork you might put one loss down to 'attitude ' but surely they're not spending half their week training and then not bothered when they turn up for a game?"
may not be putting in the full effort into games.

It is a bit of both

I don't think they get the deserved credit because they aren't trendy enough. People are blinded by the fact they are a Hurling county and assume they must be useless at Football

Which couldn't be further from the truth as barring the Milltown Massacre in 1979, they have always been competitive against Kerry which even includes underage - they gave us our hardest match at Minor last year

Cork on 3 points after 4 games and got a roasting against Clare today. Could they be heading to Division 3 ? Need to get their act together in their last 3 games or they could be toast."
I think most of Cork do not care about football and hope it goes away.
Even when cork were successful recently there was bigger crowds, at hurling matches then the football ones!
At the moment in Cork they are more worried about the hurlers that is the way it will always be.

I would love to see Clare get promotion to div 1 it would be great for the game and would set a marker down for other counties like them to follow. They have a really strong mid field. One concern I would have is that if they didn't get promotion and they took another tanking in the championship they would default to where they were. I'm sure it's not on their minds at the moment, if they can beat Meath in Ennis then they have a great chance of making the jump up.

That will be a vital game for both teams. For Clare to get promoted they would also have to beat Kildare in Newbridge. We certainly won't be taking anything for granted against Clare. Having played them twice last year, three times in total in the last few years we're well aware of their capabilities. This division looks like a 5 or six teams could still be in contention come the last round.

What patronizing guff! They have always been competitive against Kerry!!! They gave us a tough game in minor last year!!! In my lifetime, I have heard of Clare beating Kerry twice-in 1992 and an under 21 match around 2000 or there abouts.

Well considering the disparity in Football Resources and Population they have been competed well against us and did again tonight in the U21 away from home in which we only pulled away in the last 10 minutes

Given the comprehensive defeat they gave to the Rebels I think you should be a bit more respectful of Clare Football

SO WHAT, Cork don't have a god given right to beat anyone. Clare preformed on the day, cork didn't, end of. This thread is outrageously disrespectful to Clare football. Keep performing Clare, that's all that matters.

Patronizing them is not respect. Saying that we always get a grand ould game off them isn't respect.

They beat us as you said. They don't have no where near the resources or population that we have as you hinted at at. Therefore, while they have improved (by moving up from Division 4 to possibly Division 1??), their victory over Cork is in part to Cork being utterly dismal. Cork could be in Division 3 next year and that is where we belong. Clare have an awful long way to go to be considered a really good football county. They are miles of Kerry, Dublin, Mayo, Tyrone etc.

I have no problem with them or anybody beating Cork. Some perspective is needed though. Beating Cork isn't an achievement to be getting carried away it. As lots of people have said, it was not as if the result was unexpected.

The disparity I referred to is between Clare and Kerry, not Cork

What do you want me to do? Mock and laugh at Clare for not beating us?

I am judging them on a realistic scale and they are punching above their weight and fair play to them, I know others on here like to mock less resourced teams not winning that is not my style

I fear for us below in Limerick. Mayo will give us a tanking. Time for CB to act

Hardly cause for celebration. I remember when that was unheard of.

Team that finished was stronger than one which started. Colm O' Neill and Michael Hurley should be on from start. Brian Hurley when fit also.
