It looks like fight is the last thing they have. I was at the hurling today and hearing that result on the way home deepened my depression.

I would love if Donegal were in Munster. TheRightStuff (Donegal) - Posts: 1688 - 06/03/2017 01:37:11 1964298 Link 1 |
Why should they? Clare are obviously a better team than Cork at the moment so I am struggling to understand the validity of your comment? Are you talking about history? By its very nature history is past tense.

Agreed. The Journeyman is now called McHugh's, I believe, if my brain hasn't gone soft since I left there. (Sligo that is, not the pub)

As opposed to the situation in Leinster???

Then how come the mighty tough Ulster sides were unable to stop Clare and Tipperary last year? Clare have already drawn with Derry and hammered Down this year , yet how is this possible? KYTotalFootball (Kerry) - Posts: 280 - 06/03/2017 10:16:47 1964387 Link 3 |
Since 2004 Cork have won 9 under 21 titles, Clare have won none and are the only side in Munster not to make an under21 Munster final in that time. realman2 (Kildare) - Posts: 464 - 06/03/2017 10:34:50 1964402 Link 0 |
Oh sure don't you know, Munster is a hurling province only. Kerry are the sole disciples of the football code and the other 5 just send out 15 random hurlers without their camans every week and tell them to do their best. Why would Clare or Tipperary ever be considered the equal of Derry or Antrim or Fermanagh! TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 06/03/2017 10:47:11 1964408 Link 2 |
Correct, Collins is doing a great job in Clare with whats he's got. The opposite is happening in Cork. Cork have appeared in 5 of the last 11 u21 All Ireland finals so the talent is their so thats not an excuse.

Kerry hammered both Clare and Tipp last year

Cheap shot, its not Kerry's fault that Cork are a shambles. Leinster is more of a shambles than Munster and Mayo didn't have to beat a Div 1 side during their 5 in a row in Connacht where Galway probably went through one of their lowest periods in the last 50 years.

Were Claire not the better side last sunday? Clare have proven they're no flash in the pan. We took them for granted last year and they punished us for it. Cork are going the opposite direction and have been for a couple of years while Clare are improving all the time. The Royals will roast Cork in 2 weeks time as they're on the up now as well with promotion firmly in sight. St.Conleth (Kildare) - Posts: 1700 - 07/03/2017 17:35:08 1965156 Link 0 |
Clare got to the last 8 of the championship last year so not that much of a surprise. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 07/03/2017 17:53:22 1965161 Link 0 |

no, corks problem isn't players, its attitude. they were 8 points up at half time against the dubs in the league last year. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 07/03/2017 18:04:49 1965167 Link 0 |
spot on, clare are doing amazingly well, but as i said corks issues are not the quality of players.
ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 07/03/2017 18:06:37 1965169 Link 0 |
If its attitude Ziggy then the problem is the players. What has Clare playing so well, is it attitude? Or do they have decent players? I think both but they're not getting any credit. Regarding Cork you might put one loss down to 'attitude ' but surely they're not spending half their week training and then not bothered when they turn up for a game? If Clare get promoted, will that be 1st time ever a team got promoted from Div 4, to 3, to 2, to Div 1 in consecutive years? The Real 1944 (Carlow) - Posts: 1114 - 07/03/2017 20:26:14 1965240 Link 0 |
