I think club games on a Saturday makes a lot of sense, it frees the players up for the rest of the weekend which is only fair. Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8657 - 05/03/2017 11:13:46 1963775 Link 0 |
"Some of the upcoming Championship games should be played on a Saturday evening as a trial. Sunday is proving to be very inconvenient now as many people want to do other things." Ulsterman (Antrim) G.A.A._fan (Laois) - Posts: 102 - 05/03/2017 15:18:39 1963822 Link 0 |
how is a club player supposed to play a game on Saturday afternoons/evening when many work on a Saturday. I know in my club there are many who work Saturdays. And the students who come home all work Saturdays for obvious reasons. The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2088 - 05/03/2017 16:14:41 1963858 Link 0 |
Sunday games are not outdated. A lot of people are busy enough on Saturdays. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7868 - 05/03/2017 16:24:09 1963870 Link 0 |
That's a fair point the Fridge but on the other hand there are also many players who would like the option to go out and socialise on a Saturday night (particularly early in the year before the championship comes closer) but they can't because they're tied up with a league match on a Sunday and also I'm sure there's plenty of players who would like to spend time with their families on a Sunday rather than trekking around the county to play an away league match.
