Longford could've beaten Armagh only for such a bad start the week before so they're hardly worldbeaters!

Replying To thelongridge:  "No, getting soft! Fair play to the supporters who made the journey. I thought Offaly would lose, but not by 30 points.
We have to beat Tipperary in our next home game, and hope to get points from the games vSligo and Laois."
No football fan wants to see a result like this. You have to feel sorry for the players, management and their families. I am quite sure that Offaly are much better than this and can only imagine that a lot of circumstances conspired to bring about a result like this, Hopefully we will see the real Offaly team in the next round.

awful result for the faithful,no way are they 30 points a worse team than the armagh..

the reality is though that it is no longer a fair playing field anymore.gaa in leinster will die if the gaa don't put big funding behind it. they made a monster with the dubs.

While they're a major issue to be sorted out in the GAA, I can understand why Dublin fans get annoyed at the constant blame they receive for everything and anything that happens in the world.

The Dublin footballers were sitting at home tucking into their sunday lunch while ARMAGH beat OFFALY off the pitch, yet somehow it's all Dublin's fault?

I understand Offaly get less funding than Dublin, but Armagh also get less funding than Dublin. Offaly and Armagh at at the same disadvantage in that aspect, so it's not funding that makes Armagh so much better than Offaly.

I hear the same when Meath lose to Westmeath/Monaghan/Cavan/Down etc. at any level Dublin get blamed.

Excellent post CastleBravo, so many people take the lazy attitude of blaming the Dubs money for all that is wrong in Leinster football.

The Dubs do have an advantage, but Kerry and especially Mayo could have beaten them last year, so it is not all down to money Also even with Dublin's dominance, there are so many counties way ahead of the 2nd best best team in Leinster, to say it is just down to money is a cop out.

Like you say what cash advantage had Armagh over Offaly in order to beat them by 30pts?

Armagh did that to us in the Championship in 2013. They scored 8 goals and beat us by 27 points. They were relentless. Then the next day they were beaten 5 points by a Galway team who had earlier lost in Connacht by 17 points to Mayo. So football can have strange results.
