KYtotal,

Whilst I acknowledge our posts appeared consecutively on this thread, I wouldn't be categorising the analysis in your interventions as "less measured" and so forth. Quite the opposite.

It's the kind of hyperbole we have had to hear from the likes of Legend and some of his over excitable apostles that prompted my post.

...and we have to make the hay up here whenever these "eclipses" occur.

Ah Kerry might be better off to be relegated so they can "re-build" at a lower level :)

I wonder did they ever consider getting a manager from the "home of football" Dublin to manage the Kerry team?

Pillar Caffery, Pat Gilroy and Darren Mcgee the choice is yours Kerry county board....

On second thoughts, Dessie Farrell would be a good replacement for Fitzmaurice as Kerry manager.
It will also help Dessie "bridge the gap" between managing the Dublin u21s and when he eventually succeeds Jim Gavin ;)

I actually agree that Division 2 mightn't be a bad thing , it would allow the younger players to develop to Senior IC Football without fear of getting eviscerated every week by the strong teams and allow a changing of the guard, which I think is badly needed

Regarding Pillar Caffrey et al, the KCB certainly don't have near the money to pay for outside managers and I think those names you listed would be shellshocked if they had to operate without all the professional support staff and back room teams they would used to dealing with

The number of the beast may be 666, sadly the wit is not.

I don't know.
But I do know Dublin got relegated in 95 then won sam.
In all seriousness it might not be a bad thing for Kerry to spend a year in the second tier to dampen expectations a bit and bring through lads from those minor winning teams, without too much pressure.

But to quote Paidi O'Se "Kerry supporters are animals".

So I am not sure the Kerry followers would be willing to accept a fallow period for too long, in order to let the younger players settle.

This thread is kind of proof of the impatience of some Kerry supporters . Excluding 87-96 Kerry supporters have been spoiled over the years with the amount of success they have had. Three years without Sam would cause some Kerry fans to go into meltdown.

If fitz was bringing more young fellas through and if he had a clear direction in which he was going we could deal with losing! However, when he is sticking with fellas like Bryan Sheehan who let's not forget people were suggesting should go in goal last season because he doesn't have the pace for the game anymore and when there is no clear style of play bar putting men behind the ball, that is what's not acceptable! We all know in kerry we are going through a transition period but we just want it to be handled correctly!
