Replying To TheWestIsAwake:  "Its hard to imagine that 3 brothers could be that good at the same sport, all 3 are in contention for the best player in their position in their era. I doubt we'll ever see a trio like that again."
Their older brother fergal would have made it as well only a bad leg break I think it was or knee injury.

Replying To dingle2:  "You could go back as far as 1968 for an Ó Sé living in Ceann Trá on the Kerry team when Micheál Ó Sé (no relation) the great commentator and Kerry centre back is included."
Thanks for that Dingle. I never knew that man's background.

Great player and leaves behind a legacy, I'll remember him as the great player he was.

one intresting fact about them was dara never got player of the year ?..strange really as he was the best midfielder in ireland for 8/10 years..maybe it was the scamp in him that prevented him getting it!!

Great player who would have been even better if he was utilised better by playing him in the half back line.Seemed to me he would have been a much better centre/wing back than corner back who never got enough of a chance to play in the half back line.

I can't really think of a year where he deserved it tho.

Like you say he was the best midfielder in the country for the best part of a decade, but in the years they won Sam, they generally had an outstanding performer - Maurice, Moynihan, Donaghy, Tomas, Marc, Galvin. And remember Gooch and Dec O'Sullivan never won it.

It's unfair just how many quality players they produce!!!

So thats 16 all in for the three O'Se brothers

That puts them second on the list behind the Spillanes with 19?

Some amount of medals between 6 brothers...

Marc was a bit like Paolo Maldini in soccer. An outstanding defender but just a brilliant, classy footballer first & foremost.
Always came across well. He played the game hard, but fair and with the unique O'Sé style.

Was between himself and McGeeney going into 02 final with the winner taking it.
His father died that summer before the lost munster final replay to cork

He should have had it in 06. He was savage that year, especially against Armagh in the qtr final.

I don't think it could go to anyone other than Donaghy in 06 to be fair.

Selling dummies before kicking points and last ditch blocks to prevent certain goals are how I'll remember him.
A mighty man.

2006 Darragh was savage but Donaghy was hands down player of the year he was the difference that year for Kerry.
