Replying To Breffni39:  "West Dublin exists just for those who don't like the association with Northsiders or Southsiders. That's my take and that's all that matters!

Blanch is North every day of the week. At a push County Dublin if you wanna make that distinction."
Many areas that are in South West Dublin are referred to differently depending on thr situation.

For example if you're trying to sell a house they're in South Dublin but when someone gets shot it's very much West Dublin.

I think that sums it up nicely.

If I was ever to sell the gaf in North Strand I think I might get away with calling it the IFSC ;)

Hurling would be far more popular than football in the wealthier areas of south Dublin. Must be at least 10 years since anyone outside Cuala, Kimacud Crokes or Ballyboden won the Dublin championship

Partition has been a disaster in Ulster, why would anyone want to impose that on Dublin?

I was naming Sunday's panel got the Byrne's mixed up. Makes the North even better. Add in McCaffrey and that's serious.

They'd be All Ireland contenders for sure.

Sure estate agents have described Neilstown / Ronanstown as Lucan and Ballybough as Fairview for years at this stage.

You were right the first time. It was Davy Byrne St Olafs who came on for Cooper

I've never in my life life heard neilstown/Ronastown as part of Lucan , there both part of Clondalkin. How is hurling more popular in wealthy south side areas badmonkey? It's popular alright but Crokes Boden Cuala Jude's have always had great football teams. Crokes n Boden have won football all Irelands in recent years.

Emmett O Conagaile (spellcheck) from Lucan is a sub on the north side team, when did he move clubs?

I don't like this thread or the gentleman who posts frequently on rotating Dublin around other provinces.

It's up to the rest of us to make the best of what we have available and aim for the highest level. Anything else is a losing mentality. Mayo aren't far behind Dublin. There are 6 or 7 (maybe more) counties of similar population. No excuses for them. Get their act together. Roscommon, Monaghan, Cavan of smaller population are making great strides.

Dublin will always be strong but their will be a dip coming when this team passes. The Dubs of the noughties were manageable for Kildare, Meath, Laois and Westmeath on occasion.

There are a few estates in south Lucan that the land was rezoned for in the 90s.

They would've originally been part of D22 but got rezoned into Co Dublin.

The ones closest to Neilstown and Rowlagh I think.

David Byrne has worn number 4 for Dublin all season and plays for St Olafs

Davy Byrne who left the squad for college reasons is the pocket rocket from Ballymun.
