Replying To Meridian:  "What is the reason that the game is fixed for Saturday anyway? Is something on in Croker the following day?"
Well can't be on the Sunday as Sky are showing Spurs v Man City at 14:15. Also they have the Liverpool game on early on the Saturday so probably suited them to have it at 5 O'Clock.

Replying To Lockjaw:  "Where do newly qualified guards and nurses fit in your paradigm?
I would argue that they have to deal with a lot more than your average bus driver."
But the busdriver is saying enough is enough and how well their deal goes can affect how future industrial disputes go.

If the busdrivers get kicked down, makes it easier for nurses and guards to get kicked down if they have industrial action. Everyone, private and public sector has the right to strike for pay, conditions, whatever, whether we agree with them or not. Most of us had plenty taken off us during the bust. If we don't show dissatisfaction with that no-one will knock on our doors offering to give it back.

Great news. Not just for the game but there'll be Nitelink's running Saturday night too.
