Really? Most comments I'm reading across numerous forums say Mayo have it in the bag, It's mainly Dubs that think we'll win the replay. Confidence in your own team is normal, especially when it's this Dublin team.

Really?? Honestly, thats what ive been hearing in the main, the Sunday Game analysis being a case in point.

The general consensus is "Mayo have missed their opportunity", "favourites generally win the replays", "Dublin wont be as bad the next day" etc etc. Even Jack O Connor in the Examiner alluded to the fact that the general consensus was that Mayo have lost their chance (although he personally didnt agree), Tony Leen in the Examiner, Mayo have blown their chance, the42.ie - "Mayo will never have as good a chance, Dublin wont be as bad the next the time", the analysis from the Sunday game all declared Dublin were below par but wont be as bad the next day and tipped Dublin for the replay

I wouldnt pay too much heed to forums to be honest, in fairness most of the country would like to see Mayo win not because of anything anti Dublin but because of the fact its Mayo again!!

Mayo are still 5/2 to win the game which is roughly where they were before Sunday so the bookies seem to think that way also.

It is a hard one to call. Two class teams that will go hammer and tongs. We need Regan and Dillon to recover otherwise we have very little on the bench. On the other side Mannion was very good when he came on as was Andrews but does Gavin start them and risk less impact from the bench. It will be a tight game again no doubt.

There'll still be impact from the bench even if Andrews and Mannion start. If they start them over say Brogan/Flynn or Flynn/Kev Mc any 3 of those lads can make an impact from the bench. Kev may not have had the best day on Sunday but we all know what he can do as a sub. Brogan and Flynn will have even more to prove than a regular sub coming in that's used to warming the bench for 60 mins. They'll be chomping at the bit to make up for last week.

From a neutral point of view I wish the Dublin and Mayo fans would stop whinging and crying about who is the biggest baddie. Both sets of players were involved in unsavory antic on Sunday that coupled with an error-strewn match (players and officials) made it entertaining to watch. But I just wish the fans would give over about how one set of players were bigger offenders of the nasty elements of the game than the other. Its well know that neither sets of players are angels and have a habit over may years of getting involved in thuggish behavior. Football wise it was a poor game, but then again most games have been poor quality this year. Neither Mayo nor Dublin have preformed in any of their games. Connolly did get an excellent point against Kerry, his point on Sunday was good but that was about it. Cillian O'Connor`s last score was a good pressure kick but nothing more than you would expect in An All Ireland Final. If players let the carp that is currently been talked about get into their heads then the replay will be a poor game. I would expect Maurice Deegan will set out with an attitude to enforce his authority on the game and control any nasty behavior, if players heads aren't right then a few will end up as spectators. This is were the skill of the management will be tested and I actually think Stephen Rochford is better equipped to control his player. For this reason I am predicting a 4 point win for Mayo with both teams finishing with less than 15 players each...

I would imagine the Dublin forwards corp will probably improve in their performance for the replay. We will see how much mayos defence and the weather conditions had an affect on the Dublin forwards. Also there's the question of both teams conditioning if the runs to the finals will have had on them. I think that a replay usually works in favour of the favourites but I'll hope Mayo manage to play a game like the last day and cut out the mistakes

Now that Deegan is appointed I give Mayo a 50/50 chance But how the CCC are not concerned about the incidents that in any sport would be deemed 'bringing the game Int disrepute ' baffles meGood that Mayo stood up to Fublins bully boy approach I wonder if Aidan O Mahony or Paul Galvin were caught testing the quality of the AIG jersy as they traded punches with wearer would they be free to play in following game??

Deegan's auntie's mother in law knew a fella who's Ma used to make coddle.

Therefore he's basically a Dub.

Also he once bought an Aslan album = Dub.

Watched the game back last night. Does anyone think Mayo should have got a free in at the end as Dennis Bastick picked the ball straight up of the ground which should have resulted in a free in.

Weather forecast? You'd swear it never rains in Dublin normally. Under Mayo pressure, they got the yips. Whose heads are better sorted now???

I was pretty shocked that they were 5/2 still.

I've been optimistic on their chances compared to the bookies since before Tyrone.

I need to put my money where my mouth is more.
